About M.A.D.
What is Making A Difference Charity Network?
M.A.D. is a precision intervention network for good people in bad moments. It connects generosity with opportunity and turns both into targeted charitable impact.
How is M.A.D. different from a traditional charity?
M.A.D. is designed around defined, timely interventions rather than a broad promise to solve every hardship. It brings benefactors, partners, and community insight into a focused review-and-deployment model.
Who does M.A.D. seek to help?
The model focuses on individuals and families facing an acute, documented financial disruption—such as an essential bill, medical expense, loss of income, housing issue, or transportation problem—where targeted help may restore stability.
Why does timing matter?
A financial disruption can compound quickly. Timely support can sometimes help prevent an avoidable escalation such as housing instability, loss of transportation, increasing debt, or interruption of work.
Does M.A.D. provide long-term assistance?
M.A.D. is designed to help close a specific, verified gap and support a path back toward independence. It is not intended to be an open-ended dependency system.
Giving and stewardship
How are charitable opportunities evaluated?
M.A.D. considers mission fit, the nature and documentation of the need, the appropriate use of resources, and responsible stewardship. Each opportunity is evaluated on its own facts.
Who decides how resources are allocated?
M.A.D. retains independent charitable and grant-making discretion. Benefactor insight and recommendations are valued, but M.A.D. remains responsible for evaluating and approving mission-aligned uses.
Can I recommend another charitable purpose or organization?
Yes. Recommend a mission-aligned charitable purpose or organization, and M.A.D. will evaluate the opportunity, retain grant-making discretion, and pursue responsible stewardship and reporting.
Can I support a type of need that matters to me?
You can begin a conversation about the purpose that matters to you. M.A.D. can discuss relevant opportunities while retaining responsibility for charitable decisions and appropriate stewardship.
How can I remain connected to the impact?
Ask M.A.D. about current reporting, updates, and the appropriate ways it shares the progress of its work while protecting the dignity and privacy of people served.
Are contributions tax-deductible?
M.A.D. states that it is a registered 501(c)(3). The tax treatment of any contribution depends on the gift and the benefactor’s individual circumstances. Consult a qualified tax advisor for personal guidance.
Assets and strategic resources
Can I contribute an asset instead of cash?
M.A.D. welcomes conversations about vehicles, real estate, collectibles, equipment, business resources, and other assets that may be accepted, converted into charitable value, or deployed in a mission-aligned way.
Can I offer an asset’s use while retaining ownership?
In some circumstances, yes. A benefactor may be able to offer the charitable use of a vehicle, space, equipment, service, or other resource while retaining ownership and control, subject to an appropriate agreement and review.
What happens after I offer an asset?
M.A.D. will discuss the resource, its condition or limitations, the intended charitable use, mission fit, documentation, and the practical next step. Acceptance is never assumed and depends on the specific circumstances.
Can a business contribute expertise or capacity?
Yes. A business may have services, equipment, facilities, professional expertise, audience reach, or operational capacity that could be valuable to the mission. M.A.D. can explore a responsible way to put that resource to use.
Do asset-based gifts require special advice?
Often they do. M.A.D. does not provide personal tax, legal, valuation, estate, or investment advice. Benefactors should consult qualified advisors before making an asset-based gift or entering an asset-use arrangement.
Verification, trust, and partnership
How are recipients verified?
Nominations and outreach are reviewed before assistance is considered. M.A.D. focuses on acute, documented financial gaps where targeted help may stabilize a crisis.
Can I nominate a person or family?
M.A.D. uses community nomination and outreach as part of its process. A nomination begins a review; it does not guarantee assistance.
How does M.A.D. protect dignity and privacy?
M.A.D. seeks to share its model and appropriate impact information without treating the people it serves as marketing material. Privacy, dignity, and the facts of a case should guide what can be disclosed.
Can my organization become a partner?
Yes. Businesses and organizations can explore charitable contributions, resources, expertise, asset use, outreach, or mission-aligned initiatives. Each partnership begins with a conversation about purpose and fit.
What should I ask before giving?
Ask how the opportunity fits the mission, how resources will be stewarded, what documentation applies, what current reporting is available, and what next step is appropriate for the resource you want to offer.
What if I still have questions?
Questions are welcome. Contact M.A.D. to discuss a potential contribution, asset, charitable recommendation, partnership, nomination, or the way the model works.
